Field trips have been few and far between for the last few months as other projects have taken over. However, we felt it was time to follow up on a few things. Hopefully around spring next year, when the weather warms up, there will be another excursion or two on the cards. Only a small outing this time to Lavenham, famous for it's sewerage system, but aesthetically pleasing none-the-less. Truth be told we didn't actually spend a massive amount of time in Lavenham as there were other priorities. We had a quick look around Water Street, the residence of David Bird (1903-1986), and then checked out the overspill cemetery to go headstone hunting. It didn't take long to find what we were looking for - so here it is.
For those who can't read the inscription (it is pretty hard to see) it reads:
In memory of our dear parents May Bird, died 12th April 1969, Aged 71 and David Bird, died 25th February 1986, aged 82, reunited
With any luck there'll be another field trip in the spring (we're actually running out of nearby places to visit!)
