I'm desperately trying to discover the origins of the Lezart name and trace that particular line of my tree. Can you help?

Specifically, I'm looking for information on Joseph Lezart, a seaman or master mariner and his direct ancestral line. He married a Mary Abrahams/Abrams in Walton-on-the-Hill, Lancashire on the 21st August 1865. Joseph's father was also named Joseph and a farmer, according to the marriage certificate. Joseph and Mary had a child, Josephine, but Joseph sadly died before she was born.

Stories from family members say that the family came from Malta, a country they left in the early 1800's. Today, there appear to be more Lezart's in Canada than anywhere else. If anyone has any information on the Lezart's of the world then please contact me. Thanks. :)
